Following a three day jury trial before the Honorable Paula Francisco Ott, a Chester County jury acquitted a Philadelphia man of traveling to Kennett Square with co- conspirators to manufacture, package and distribute crack cocaine. Although several co- defendants were convicted, the jury found the testimony of a Pennsylvania State Trooper to be inconsistent with the confidential informant called by the Commonwealth. Mr. Hoey established that the trooper’s testimony was likely false as it pertained to his client. As a result of the numerous inconsistencies between the two witnesses, the Chester County Jury found Mr. Hoey’s client not guilty. Commonwealth vs. Rakim: Chester County Court of Common Pleas
